About Me

I took this from the IMBCT page (not written by me, obviously…but pretty good I thought haha!

Dustin has endured many crucial hours of intensive training under extremely well known and respected martial artists such as Kru Phil Nurse (The WAT) and Sifu Richard Bustillo (IMB). In early 2008 Dustin earned his apprentice instructorship under Sifu Richard Bustillo. He is a Blue belt in Brazilian Jui Jitsu under Fabiano Teles at Underdog BJJ in Hartford, Ct.|

As a competitor, Dustin fought in an exhibition match in March of 2007 at the WAT in New York City. He then competed at Combat Zone 21 in April of 2007 for his amateur kickboxing debut and won by unanimous decision after 3 well fought rounds. From there Dustin approached MMA and suffered a tough loss to an arm bar at Untamed 17 in August 2007. Since, Dustin has dedicated himself to further improving his grappling skills until he re-enters MMA. His true calling, his ‘Swagger’, lies in his extremely fast hands and precise feet.

He has ‘The skills that pay the bills’ when it comes to his well-coordinated and perfectly fluent dance like foot work and striking capabilities. Most recently, Dustin performed in a non-judged ‘smoker’ fight at Plus One Defense Academy in West Hartford, Ct. and again, did extremely well!
Not only can Dustin fight, he can teach, and really well at that. Dustin has been a student under Sifu Chris Smith for about 5 years and for the last 3 has been a great assistant in filling in as a teacher and coach when necessary. We call him Peter Parker because you should not be fooled by his innocent smile and charming clumsiness, but beware however, of his dramatic ability to style on, and ultimately put the CAL ON YOU!
